Hi again!

Went to see my Surgeon's PA, yesterday. Had an excellent appointment! She was very pleased with my weight loss, what I'm eating, what I'm doing for exercise. She said to keep up the good work, she said to eat a well balanced diet, everything in moderation, and no extreme fad type of diets like Atkins. She said we need all food groups for our health, even though we WLS'ers focus a lot on protein. We discussed pregnancy, and she gave me the green light! So I will set up an appointment with Maria Weber at ActiveNutritionist.com, and get all info on pregnancy guidelines when you've had WLS, regarding pre-natal vitamins and diet. I'm really excited over this. Now to just try to TTC when DH travels a lot, lol, that's the only challenge right now, I can see. ;)

So I am really pleased. I am on MyFitnessPal.com and have an app on my phone and keep a log there on my meals and exercise. I am getting my protein in the past couple weeks and feel a difference really!

96 pounds down and so proud of how far I've come! All glory and praise to God who's gotten me through this all.

I am at peace where I am, with my weight loss and looks. I have 45 lbs left to lose to get to Synergy's goal. I look forward to the upcoming year, with reaching my goal and pregnancy. :)

Hi ~

I've been feeling really down about myself lately, and friends have been helping pick me up with encouragement of how far I've come in the past 10.5 months. But as I approach my 1 year Surgiversary, I have been thinking, what a slacker I've been with exercise. I focused too much on the diet part and not enough on the exercise. Now I have to play catch-up more or less.

So I have my bike and am taking it out for a nice bike ride today, and everyday. I have my Wii and will do Just Dance 2 and the Wii Fit Plus. I have my Leslie Sansone and Richard Simmons workouts. I have the tools, now I need to really USE THEM. No excuses! I have my stretchie bands and they are good in a way that I can take them everywhere I go!

I do love to exercise, really! I don't know what my problem has been. But I need to do it!

Focus!!! Protein, vitamins, water and exercise!

I'm pendling between 239-240 lbs for many weeks. I am hoping with added exercise to my routine and focusing on protein and water especially, I will be seeing a big drop each month ... esp when I am close to 100 lbs gone! I hope I reach it before my Surgiversary!

Hope to update with pictures again soon when I've got my habit of exercised formed! Today I walked 15-20 mins briskly at Chestnut Ridge with my Brit BFF and we sweat and huffed and puffed on the trails and hills. We would of went longer but we were short on time in the morning, as we were meeting my WLS BFF Kristen for "fika" at Wegman's. ;)

Hoping to get 3 miles or more from now on, so I can really post stuff on my cool September Exercise and WL chart I have in the kitchen for all to see. :) So far September has gone really well! More to come!

BTW, I belong to the Derby, NY chapter of TOPS now, and go Monday Mornings after I drop Alex off at school. :)

I only lost 0.7 lbs today. I know why! Because I haven't exercised enough nor eaten enough protein. With work, I've totally been unfocused. So I am very ready now to focus on ME and my WLS journey again, as I am quitting my job with Kmart.

Looking forward to seeing bigger numbers in the upcoming weeks and announcing 100 lbs gone forever!

Hey folks!

Doing good, protein wise, and exercise wise, lately! Feeling good, too. "The Spark" book on my Kindle is just excellent and I am learning so much! I do love Sparkpeople and use it everyday to log my food and exercise. And they have some WLS friendly groups on there as well!

Just caught up with BTV's videos, for some odd reason I was not getting their enewsletter when they send them so I joined thier mailing list again and am updating my profile on their forum!

Down 91 lbs :) Yea baby! :) Will see a nice drop next week when my TOM is gone! So happy! I will get to my 100# loss milestone real soon!

So I need to get a webcam. Pronto! Will look on Amazon!

Hi folks!

My webcam bit the dust. So I will be writing my posts from now on 'til I get a new one. I am down almost 90 lbs now! :)) So excited!!

I have reached my 5,000 steps a day goal a few times this week. I am doing SparkPeople.com's 5K Your Way Program, so I am excited about that. I got myself a Kindle and am reading The Spark on it, and learning so much.

I think my appointment with Synergy is in June, so I am hoping to be down 100 lbs by then!!! :) Gotta up the protein and up the exercise!! :)) I can beat this PCOS I know it.... ;)

I just added the Wii game "Walk it out" to my excercise regimin! Wow it is fun! I otherwise use "Just Dance 2", "Wii fit plus" and dvds or on demand exercise tv.

I got some highlights today, at my darling hairdresser, Rachel’s house. I went with my WLS-sister Kristen, who also got lovely highlights, too!

We had a great morning there, and on the way there she was sweet enough and treated me to a large iced coffee, which is heavenly, from Tim Horton’s!

I’m so thankful for both my fab hairdresser, Rachel, and for my WLS-sister Kristen. Both are a blessing in my life and worth their weight in gold!

Hi folks! Well, wanted to chime in and say I am down 70 lbs now! I figured I’d check my weight since I couldn’t on Wednesday since I still had my TOM then, and I usually gain from bloating. One thing that was brought to my attention is, I am almost at the weight I was at when I began Atkins in January 2003 (253#s). I cannot believe I put on so much weight since then. (I did lose 53# on Atkins from Jan 2003 to June 2004, mind you.)

My medical clearance went fine and I'll see Dr. Melissa again at the end of November, before Thanksgiving, to get my flu shot. She's very positive and supportive of my WLS, and I'm just so thankful for a great doctor. :0)

By the way, I am entering a Swedish contest right now; to win some Body Shop skin care products from Sweden!

Here is the blog post in Swedish (I know it fluently, of course). My best skin care tip? Make sure you 1) Cleanse each morning 2) Use an AM Moisturizer with SPF and 3) Cleanse each evening before bed and lastly 4) Use a PM Moisturizer. I use AVON's ANEW products from back when I sold AVON and they work really well. :0)

Well today, one of my BFF's, Heather, took Alex and I to lunch at a Chinese buffet. It was delicious, and I only had 2 plates (not heaping portions either) with ice water. Nom nom for my tum tum! Haha! Anyway, only 2 days left of the normal food, then it's my pre-op diet! :) Exciting times ahead! I hope to drop at least 10 lbs with this pre-op liquid diet and hope to FEEL that I have done so because it's been so long since I was on the "losers bench".

Today I have not had 1 cup of coffee at all. I did have a caffeine headache this morning and took 2 headache pills for that, and it went away and stayed away. :)

So I've been dozing off and on today due to no caffeine helping me stay awake LOL :) Was nice to nap on a cold sunny (and some rain, too) fall day...

Don't know what to write, right now... got tagged by Becki (Bamboo2you) on youtube for the I am Beautiful video, so will do that once little man is in bed in an hour... will post it here maybe.

Goals, post-op

My post-op goals will be...

be able to wear my car's seatbelt comfortably. (it's to it's limit now)
to sit comfortably in an airline seat, or amusement park ride, or movie theater seat.
to walk without pain
to be able to play with my son indoors and outdoors
to have energy
to have my "mojo" (as Austin Powers calls it) back
to have my TOM come back and be regular
to shop clothes in the normal sections of department stores
to look good in whatever I wear
for me to not have any aches or pains in any joints
to workout everyday (except Sunday...the Lord's day) and reach 10,000 steps or more
to get pregnant after 18 months post-op ;) that we have to wait...

That's all I can think of right now... more to come I am sure...

Hi all!

Well on Thursday afternoon I met my surgeon, for a consultation. He said I make a great candidate for open GBP...and will feel a lot better with it. I can't wait! On my paperwork, it says estimated surgery date: Mid November. So I have another month and a half to whip myself into shape. I began today. I have been walking a lot since Alex started school, and I need to incorporate some workout dvds. Need to get my stamina up! Eating lower carb too, now. Won't be able to eat any other way post-op once real foods are back in the menu.

So that's about all for now...

Well soon (Thursday) I get to meet Dr Caruana at Synergy. Hopefully he'll approve me, and then my insurance company (Univera) will not pose any problems and approve me, and I'll be on my way to getting an exact date and time of my surgery. Please dear Lord, let it be next month sometime. I just want it over and done with, as I hate surgeries. The thought of being put under, and a tube shoved down my throat, and then my stomach being sliced and diced and rearranged, makes me nervous, but I know it will save my life...and it's a 45 min procedure.

Tomorrow I'll get back on 2 shakes a day and just a small dinner. And I will be doing AM and PM stretching with Richard Simmons and walking with Magnus and Alex to the bus stop allllll the way down our loooooong driveway, to the street twice a day. My friend Jacqui is sending me a new Omron pedometer, and I hope it is the kind with software one can use with it to track everything. :o)

Well my friend K and I were talking about how Synergy wants you to buy their own product line (Bariatric Fusion) for the Liver Reduction Diet (2 wks before WLS is performed). They guesstimate it will use 3 tubs of their protein powder, and at $34.95 a tub, that comes to $104.85 before tax! Geez louise! Can't they offer their patients a discount, at least? Would be nice! Especially since we have to get their products both before and afterwards. I was kind of eyeing Bariatric Advantage.... as an alternative....

I'm meeting so many new people in the WLS community. I'm thrilled, because you need all the support you can get when you're (as BariatricTV says) a surgically altered freak. ;O)

One particular new WLS pre-op friend, K, I have is local, and she (like another local WLS post-op friend) is getting her (laproscopic) gastric bypass done by Dr Pham at Synergy. I hope we get it done in the same month so we can share more than our surgeons' office, hospital and other things (we both have PCOS) in common ;o) We both spoke on the phone yesterday and I hope we'll soon meet for coffee and discuss WLS stuff.

Sorry I left blogger during my moment of cold feet (as in I had changed my mind about getting a GBP) I had all weekend and even on Monday. I am feeling more confident now since yesterday, in getting the surgery done. So, please, if you have a blog and are a WLS'er, let me know, I'll add you to my blog list. I am also on youtube.... so add me there as well.
